Following his four thrilling novels, Journalist Dawda Faye, senior judicial correspondent working with The Point newspaper, has published his fifth book entitled ‘Solo Sandeng murder case: Who killed him?’.  He is the author of ‘The Broken Reed’, ‘The Betrayer’, ‘Bad Blood’ and ‘Struggle for Inheritance’.

According to Mr. Faye, he has published the book because Solo Sandeng sacrificed his life and liberated Gambians.

Solo Sandeng was UDP youth mobiliser. He came out to the streets along with UDP supporters on the 14th April, 2016, demanding electoral reforms. The Police Intervention Unit (PIU) intervened to disperse them. In the scuffle, the PIU officers beat some of them and arrested others. Solo Sandeng was among those who were arrested and the following day, he was said to have been murdered.

Journalist Faye feels that Solo Sandeng’s legacy should be preserved for posterity.

The book is written for those who did not have the opportunity to attend the court proceedings of the case. It will enable the next generation to know who Solo Sandeng was and why he was killed.

It will also be of interest to lawyers, judges, legal luminaries, law students, magistrates, prosecutors and the general public.

Copies of the book are being sold at D350 per copy by the author himself and can be reached on 7830523/9904017/9034631.
