It has come to the notice of the Commission that fake news regarding the 2016 Supplementary Voter Registration Voting Cards is being circulated on social media. The Commission hereby reiterates that Voters Cards issued in 2016 were declared null and void before the commencement of the 2021 General Registration of Voters. Voters' cards issued during the 2021 General Registration of voters are valid and can be used to vote during the current election cycle (2026 to 2027). Gambians registered in 2021 must not register during the Supplementary Registration of voters (8 April to 21 May, 2026). Gambians who are 18 years of age or will be 18 years by 5 December, 2026 and Gambians who were not able to register in 2021 are to register during the ongoing Supplementary Registration of Voters.
