The Gambia Immigration Department (GID) has intercepted fifteen suspected would-be migrants in the village of Kerr Jane.

On Saturday, 11 July 2026, the GID Border Patrol Unit (BPU) in the North Bank Region acted on credible intelligence that led to the successful interception of the 15 suspected would-be migrants in Kerr Jane village.

The intercepted group comprised twelve (12) Guinean nationals and three (3) Malian nationals, including eight (8) males, seven (7) females, and one (1) minor.

Following the interception, the migrants were handed over to the GID Immigration Post in Barra for further processing and the necessary immigration procedures.
