The founder of the Global Youth Innovation Network (GYIN) Gambia chapter, Mamadou Edrisa Njie, has been recognised for his outstanding professionalism in youth development in The Gambia and beyond.

The EhtioTelecom of Ethiopia, in partnership with The Business Executive Media Group, on 4 November 2022 presented a certificate to Mr Mamadou Njie in recognition for his professionalism and remarkable performance in promoting youth matters.

Mr Njie was among outstanding professionals in Africa at the award ceremony held at Ethiopia’s Sheraton Addis Hotel in Addis Ababa.

The African Outstanding Professionals Awards was organised by The Business Executive Media Group, a leading international business publishing, entrepreneurial /corporate sector events organiser and business networking group of companies headquartered in Ghana and having offices in Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates.

“I am delighted to have been recognised by The Business Executive and I thank them for the recognition. I dedicate this achievement to my mentor, Dr Amina Silla, who is the Chief Executive Officer of GYIN International,” Njie said after receiving the award.

The award is a new pan-continental awards scheme designed to identify and publicly recognise extraordinarily capable and accomplished professionals across the various delineated fields of activity. It is open to both indigenous Africans and foreign nationals who are domiciled and professionally active in Africa.

The awards, according to The Business Executive, aim to encourage and promote professionalism in socio-economic activity all around the continent with a view to supporting wider efforts to make Africa most competitive within the emergent global economy and society; and to directly identify professionals who are world class in their activities and therefore most deserving of taking part in international supply/value chains and socio-economic programmes, events, initiatives and projects.

Mr Njie founded the GYIN Gambia Chapter in 2012 after attending the launch of GYIN International in Cotonou, Benin a year earlier.
