The Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) board and senior management resumed their annual familiarization tour of Greater Banjul Area branches on Monday, 11 May 2026.

Board Chairperson Dawda Ndure led the delegation, accompanied by Commissioner General Yankuba Darboe, Vice Chairperson, Deputy Commissioner General and Head of Domestic Taxes Essa Jallow, Commissioner of Customs Alhagie K. Mbye, and other directors.

CG Darboe said the tour gives the new board an opportunity to meet staff and “get firsthand information about their challenges” during revenue collection. He described it as an annual routine to address welfare and working conditions.

During the visits, branch managers raised concerns over mobility, inverters, and air conditioning. Some also highlighted progress in revenue mobilization.

Darboe thanked staff for their “hard work, commitment and determination,” warning that “mismanagement of government revenue is uncompromisable.” He urged staff to respect hierarchy and advised managers to be role models, monitoring dress code and punctuality.

“Redouble your efforts to ensure that you collect toward your monthly targets or yearly targets,” Darboe said, stressing that discipline is key.

Board Chairperson Ndure called on staff to “portray good image of the Authority,” noting that GRA is a corporate institution and staff should serve as ambassadors. He said top management will continue to address staff welfare.
