The Keel Laying Ceremony was held on Tuesday 4th February 2025 at DAMEN Shipyards in Netherlands, and was witnessed by the following:
- Managing Director, Gambia Ports Authority;
- Van Woerkom, Nobels & Ten Veen, The Netherlands- Shipbuilding Surveyor; and
- V Scheepswerf Damen Hardinxveld Shipyards; The Netherlands, Ship builders.
In addition to the Keel laying, it was confirmed that two (2) sections of the new green ferry have already been achieved as shown on the pictures below. Thus, the Gambia Government, through GPA and Ferry Services wish to reassure the general public that the expected delivery date by December 2025 is achievable, in line with contract milestones.
The GPA Management wishes to renew its commitment to provide safer and more reliable Ferry Services.
