Gov’t to build new multi-sport national stadium in Lamin

His Excellency Adama Barrow received yesterday at State House the leadership of Kombo Lamin village including members of the Village Development Committee (VDC), and women representatives.

The meeting focused on the construction of a youth recreational centre, a new national stadium, a women’s garden, road and other national infrastructure within Lamin.

Speaking for the delegation, the Secretary General of Lamin VDC, Alagie Yusupha Gomez, thanked President Barrow for the opportunity to discuss these important issues. He emphasized the need for road construction to reduce traffic congestion and improve transportation between Lamin and nearby villages. He also requested presidential support for the fencing of the women's garden to protect it from intrusions and the construction of youth recreational centre to promote a healthy community. Gomez assured the President their strong support for the government's development plans.

In his remarks, President Barrow stressed that with dialogue, peace, development, the rule of law and independence of the judiciary would continue to prevail in the country. He praised the Kombo Lamin representatives for their support and announced his government's plan for a multi-sport national stadium in Lamin, urging the community to align their local initiatives with government policies.

The President pledged his government's support for the Lamin women’s garden to help them maximize their produce and prevent animal intrusion.

The delegation expressed their gratitude to President Barrow and his government for their commitment to collaborating with them for national advancement.
