Hamat N.K. Bah, minister for Tourism and Culture, has said the Gambia government would continue to encourage more investors to come and invest in the country.

Minister Bah reiterated government’s encouragement of investors into the country while speaking recently during a business round-table meeting held at the Sir Dawda Jawara International Conference Centre. He was welcoming the Mayor of North Miami and Miami-Dade County officials with their representatives.

“The Gambia government would encourage the people of Miami to explore the possibility of investing in The Gambia,” he said, adding that no investment would be deemed small.

“I believe when you go, you will be the ambassadors of this country to encourage people to come and invest,” he said. “We are a small country, but we have men and women who are very determined at all times to get things done.

“Anybody who comes to The Gambia, the first thing you observe is the commitment of our women, because they are all the time working hard to make sure that this country moves forward.”

He stated further: “Today, records have indicated that even in our schools, women are doing better than men and the results show that clearly. And we believe this country has a greater future.”

He therefore thanked the Gambia Tourism Board for taking up the initiative through the connection of Madam Mariatou Jaiteh and her team.

Minister Bah also pointed out that The Gambia is the Smile Coast of Africa and one of the most peaceful countries on the continent. “That shows that The Gambia is a country that is safe to visit and safe for you to invest,” he encouraged the Miami visitors, adding: “As a government, it is our responsibility to create the atmosphere to make it extremely conducive for people to be able to invest, work and live in this country.”
