Global leaders in travel & tourism converge kicks off in Saudi Arabia

Under the auspices of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), Global leaders in Travel and Tourism; both Public and Private sectors converged in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the 22nd WTTC Global Summit from 28th November to 1st December 2022. 

The WTTC’s annual Global Summit is the most influential Travel & Tourism convergence on the calendar of events and this year, industry leaders gathered with key government representatives to continue aligning efforts to support the sector’s recovery and move beyond to a safer, more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future.

The theme for this year’s Global Summit was: TRAVEL FOR A BETTER FUTURE.

The Summit was well attended with over 2, 800 people from over 140 countries around the world. Amongst the attendees included the His Excellency the President of Zanzibar of the Kingdom of Tanzania, the President and CEO of WTTC, the Secretary General of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), over 50 Cabinet Ministers, over 250 Director Generals, Chief Executive Officers and Heads of Travel and Tourism Institutions, Groups and Organisations worldwide. The Gambia was represented by the Minister for Tourism and Culture, Honourable Hamat N.K. Bah who was accompanied by his Deputy Permanent Secretary, Mr Mamadi Dampha and the Director General of Gambia Tourism Board, Mr. Abubacarr S. Camara.
