The training is underway at SUTIN Institute of Technology at Sukuta Salagi.
The initiative is informed by the management's desire to put up adequate workforce that would handle their ICT needs as they march on to transform the mode of their operations in document processing, border control, migration management.
Ousman Lowe, the Commissioner of Finance at the GID, said the training would pay dividend to boost the work of the immigration in terms of digital documentation.
He encouraged the participants to take the training seriously as there are lots of personnel at the GID who do not have the same opportunity to attend the training. “So for that being the reason, the trainees should make best use of the knowledge that they would get at the end of the training for their own well-being and the betterment of the country.”
He thanked the management of the SUTIN Institute of Technology for providing the basic ICT skills to the GID personnel.
Sulayman Camara, The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) commended the GID for choosing his institution to train its staff on ICT, citing that a country cannot develop without technology. “This training will equip the GID personnel to do their work effectively.”
Amie Ganesh Kebbeh, Women Assistant Immigration Control Officer (WAICO), who gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the participants, hailed the leadership of the GID for selecting them to be part of the training, while assuring that they would make the best use of the opportunity.
