The Gambia cannot reach its full potential if half of its population is held back. Women are the backbone of our families, our communities, and our economy. Yet they continue to face systemic barriers in politics, entrepreneurship, education, healthcare, and the workplace. This must change - and under a GFA government, it will. This is our promise to you. Judge us by it. Hold us accountable to it.
GFA pledges to pursue landmark, well-designed, integrated policies, including increased representation of women in government and public institutions; expanded access to maternal, reproductive and sexual healthcare nationwide; financial inclusion for women-led small businesses; and increased educational opportunities in senior secondary and tertiary levels. These are not mere aspirations, they are achievable and, they are commitments from a GFA-led government to correct the unacceptable structural imbalances.
The party also recognises the courage of Gambian women who continue to speak out against gender-based violence, early marriage, and discrimination. GFA stands with survivors and pledges to strengthen legal protections to ensure justice is never out of reach.
As we mark the International Women's Day 2026, GFA invites all citizens to join this movement for a fairer, stronger, and more inclusive Gambia. GFA calls on all stakeholders - civil society, community leaders, and international partners - to join hands in building a Gambia where every woman and every girl can live free from fear, free from discrimination, thrive, lead, and contribute fully to the nation's future.
GFA stands in solidarity with Gambian women and women all around the world for their rights and aspirations for a world where every person is given an opportunity to live a dignified and purposeful life!
