In 2018 and 2021, the Afrobarometer revealed that 88 percent of Gambians say they should choose their leaders through regular, open and honest elections.

Meanwhile, in 2018 and 2021, 11 percent of Gambians said since elections sometimes produce bad results, they should adopt other methods for choosing this country’s leaders.
