Gambia reduces fuel prices

Jul 2, 2026, 9:17 AM

As promised by President Barrow over the weekend, the price of fuel has gone down today. The reduction — announced as part of government efforts to ease the burden on households and businesses — is expected to have ripple effects across transport, food prices, and the wider economy. Officials say the adjustment reflects both global market trends and a commitment to keep essential commodities within reach of ordinary Gambians. The new pump prices stand at One Hundred and One Dalasi Ten Butut for Petrol, down by almost Eleven Dalasi...and One Hundred and Thirteen Dalasi and Fifty Two Butut for Diesel, a reduction of just under One Dalasi and Fifty Butut.
