Gambia, Morocco consolidate longstanding ties

At the invitation of His Excellency Mr Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates of the Kingdom of Morocco, the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad of the Republic of The Gambia, Hon. Sering Modou Njie, on Wednesday 23 July 2025 undertook an official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.

The visit served to further consolidate the longstanding ties of friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between the Republic of The Gambia and the Kingdom of Morocco. Relations between the two countries continue to be underpinned by mutual respect, shared values, and a common vision for regional stability and development.


𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞́ 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐜𝐨

During the visit, both sides held constructive discussions and conducted a comprehensive review of the state of bilateral cooperation. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration in priority areas, including:

▪️Diplomatic and Political Cooperation
▪️Economic and Trade Relations
▪️Education and Human Resource Development
▪️Defence, Security, and Migration

The visit marks a renewed chapter in the strategic partnership between the Republic of The Gambia and the Kingdom of Morocco, reaffirming a shared commitment to fostering peace, prosperity, and sustainable development across the region and the African continent.
