Held at the GCCI office on Thursday 29 August 2o24, the forum marked the premier cooperation pack between the World Cooperation Industries (WCI) and GCCI, aimed at promoting SMEs.
The forum was in preparation of the upcoming WCI Forum, slated for 16 and 17 October 2024, in Istanbul, Turkey.
The GCCI-held session brought together some leading experts to share their knowledge, experiences and perspectives on the evolving landscape of global industries.
The WCI Forum (World Cooperation Industries Forum) to be held in October is an international business forum and a B2B meeting in Turkey held annually with Turkish manufacturers and exporters.
Speaking at the seminar, Fahri Turker Oba, the Turkish ambassador in The Gambia, said the forum was an opportunity for him to present his country to the business community, saying that sometimes one could not always find the right partners.
“I am here to make sure that people find each other and we hope that these kinds of events will make sure that you find each other correctly,” he said, adding that participants at the meeting should take further steps to have counterparts and B2B.
He further encouraged the participants to reach out to the Turkish embassy with questions and further business deals, assuring that they would endeavour to answer their questions. He reiterated that they value the good friendship between The Gambia and Turkey.
Utku Bengisu, WCI Forum president, said that since his company was founded in 2012 they have been organising business forums to collaborate and discuss business opportunities between Turkey and other organisations in various African countries.
Fatou Senghore, the chairperson of the Gambia-Turkish Business Council, said the Chamber is dedicated to the growth and development of businesses in the country, adding that they at GCCI hope the event would play crucial role in fostering innovation, collaboration and sustainable growth across various industries.
