The minister of Fisheries, Water Resources and National Assembly Matters, James F. Gomez, on Sunday while speaking in an exclusive interview with The Point, urged the youths of the country and the young people as a whole not allow politicians and other leaders in this country to use them as subjects.

He said this when he attended a political homecoming rally organised by the NPP supporters of New Town West Ward at Banjul Central, along with colleagues and other top government officials and cabinet ministers such as Claudiana Cole, minister of Basic and Secondary Education; Sarjo Mballow Barrow and Fatoumatta Bah Barrow and the First and Second Ladies among senior government officials.

“Doing something for the young is not about talking. Doing something for the youths and youngsters of this county is about taking concrete steps and taking actions. The youths should not accept to be used as subjects by anybody. The election is coming; they should try by all means to maintain the peace. It is peace that we are known for as Gambia,” he advised.

He added that they should not be allowed to be deceived or fooled by people in this country. He said he is optimistic that the youths and youngsters of this country now know the path that they have to follow, the right direction.
