The Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources (MECCNAR) wishes to inform the general public that any individual or institution that has acquired land within the boundaries of the reserved Koto Bali Community Forest in Kombo Central, are strongly advised to submit copies of all their land acquisition documents but bring original for verification and confirmation in person to the Permanent Secretary, MECCNAR, at the following address: Permanent Secretary Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources GIEPA House, Kairaba Avenue, Kanifing Municipality The Gambia.

All original documents must be presented on or before 14th March 2025.

This directive is necessitated by the Government’s commitment to address the matter of illegal encroachment in the Koto Bali Community Forest while ensuring that the welfare of genuinely duped buyers is taken into proper consideration. Any individual or institution that fails to provide the requested documentation by the deadline, will not be given due consideration when the Government makes its final decision on the resolution of these illegal encroachments.

The Ministry remains dedicated to protecting The Gambia’s natural resources and will continue to work with relevant stakeholders to ensure that our community forests are preserved for the benefit of current and future generations.
