The visit was to strengthen the already cordial relationship between the paper and the embassy. She was received and welcomed by publishers and editor-in-chief of The Point.
Madam Laura talked about the longstanding and fruitful relationship between Cuba and The Gambia in so many areas including health and education. She also promised that Cuba will continue to play a significant role in The Gambia’s health sector and other developmental areas.
Publishers of The Point, Pap Saine and Baba Hydara assured Madam Laura of the paper’s continued collaboration with the Cuban embassy in news dissemination.
The duo thanked Laura for her visit, describing it as sign of love for the media. They hailed her predecessor, saying he was a journalist who also loved the media.
Ms. Laura Elízabeth Martínez Galindo holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the Instituto Superior Raúl Roa García.
She holds a Diploma in International Trade, Foreign Investment and Cooperation.
She is currently studying for a Master's degree in International Relations.
