Cuba Vice Prime Minister signs condolences book for death of Gambian Vice President

Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz attended Tuesday the signing of the book of condolences opened by the Gambian Embassy in Havana, on the occasion of the death of Vice President Badara Alieu Joof, on January 18.

The senior leader conveyed the deepest condolences on behalf of the Cuban people to the Government and Gambian people.

On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the largest island in the Antilles, he accompanied the vice prime minister, Luis Alberto Amorós Núñez, director of Sub-Saharan Africa, who also expressed his deepest regret for this painful event.

Upon learning about the news of the death of Badara Alieu Joof, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez regretted what had happened and extended his condolences to family members and relatives of the Gambian official.

Cuba and The Gambia established diplomatic relations in 1979, and for more than three decades they have maintained cooperation in the health sector.
