Covid-19 update: Senegal reports 89 positive cases

Senegalese Ministry of Health yesterday reported 89 positive bringing the total number of 1271 positive cases, 415 recovered, 10 deaths and 845 under treatment. Senegal has registered the highest number in the sub-region.

Lesotho is the only African country that has not registered COVID-19.

‘Local capacity and knowledge in mitigating Climate Change, a necessity’

Professor Sidat Yaffa, the dean of the School of Agriculture & Environmental Sciences of the University of The Gambia (UTG) has disclosed that in search of local capacity and knowledge in mitigating the phenomenon of Climate Change, there is a dire need to mainstream Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) into the UTG programme in an effort to bridge the capacity gap on ICZM and Climate Change (CC) in The Gambia. The Professor made this revelation during a day’s consultative dialogue recently held at the University extension campus in Farafenni, NBR with relevant stakeholders to develop a training programme and curriculum on ICZM and CC for the UTG.
