Gambia records 2 fresh cases of covid-19

Momodou Njai, the director of Health Promotion and Education has confirmed to this medium that two Gambian males have been tested positive of covid-19.
The decedent, the ministry of health said was a 75-year-old man who sought to be tested a day prior to his demise on account of being sick with flu-like symptoms.
The country also registered 4 new positive cases, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases ever confirmed in the country to 3,806.
This is according to the 237 national situation report since the confirmation of the first case of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in The Gambia, on the 16th March 2020.
Eight new patients recovered and got discharged, while 12 people were newly taken into quarantine.
The country currently has15 people in quarantine, 4 active cases and a crude case- fatality ratio of 3.3%.
Meanwhile, the Senegalese Ministry of Health yesterday reported 161 new positive cases bringing its total number of positive cases to 19, 964. The country recorded 17, 690 recoveries, 428 deaths while 1, 845 are under treatment.
