The NPP BAC runoff primary was held yesterday at the party’s West Coast regional office and attended by top NPP officials, such as the agriculture minister Demba Sabally and Sheriff Abba Sanyang, Local Government and Lands minister.
Eighty-six delegates cast their votes, with Seedy pulling 46 whilst his opponent Ahmed Gitteh, who reportedly deserted the venue before voting started got 22 of the votes.
Gitteh also reportedly told his supporters not to vote as he boycotted the runoff as earlier promised.
Six people declared interest in NPP BAC candidature and struggled against one another in the primaries held on Wednesday.
Reacting to his victory at the gathering, Ceesay urged the people of West Coast and NPP to unite and ensure that West Coast is developed for generations coming.
