Residents of Wellingara have reacted to the latest police developments, noting that since the incident began, officers have been conducting frequent 24-hour patrols to ensure people can go about their daily business safely.
Fatou Jallow, a Wellingara native who spoke to our reporter, said: “It was rather unfortunate that this gang attack occurred. However, we are very pleased with the response from the security personnel, not only because of the arrests, but also because they are now regularly patrolling the area. I am quite optimistic that such incidents will not happen again.”
A security officer, speaking anonymously, said: “The situation has been under control since Tuesday. The arrested individuals are cooperating with the police.”
“Rest assured, we will get to the bottom of this. We will never allow any part of the country to be attacked by anyone. This will not happen again, as security measures have already been put in place.”
“There is no need for anyone in Wellingara or anywhere in the country to live in fear. The peace and stability this nation is known for shall continue to flourish,” the source assured.
