The dialogue, which brought all political leaders in the country together, was held on Monday at State House.
Hon Jammeh was speaking to The Point on Monday at his home in Bundung.
“This dialogue is very important as through such meetings, political leaders would find a solution to move this country forward,” he said. “I therefore commend the President for the willingness to have dialogue with the political leaders. This is a good move, because at the end of the day, we all have one common goal; that is to develop this country.”
He also raised the fact that there is time for politics and time for work and national development. “When it is time for politics, people can go and do their politics” he said. “But this dialogue is very important for national development.”
Hon Jammeh also highlighted some of the strategic developments his community has registered in his tenure as NAM, citing moves to provide pipe-borne water in his constituency. He said 29 community stand pipes have already been paid for and are only waiting for NAWEC to do the installation in his constituency.
