He thus vowed to win landslide for the NPP.
During an interview with The Point’s Abdoulie Nyockeh, Mr Bojang revealed that “the choice is clear, as I am the people’s candidate”.
The former newspaper Layout Editor disclosed that his focus would be on the grassroots, saying he had already consulted with stakeholders in all the 12 constituencies of West Coast Region (WCR).
He has held face-to-face meetings with all the NPP constituency committees, and they have subscribed to his agenda and endorsed him as their choice, he said elatedly.
The constituencies’ executives, he also said, have vowed to support his candidature. “If you want people’s position, you seek it from them,” he exults in his strategy.
Bojang, a youth leader who serves numerous youth organisations in the country, described himself as a “social worker, urban planner, community development specialist, and an agent of change”.
He prides himself as the winning candidate, who can win hands down for NPP in the upcoming West Coast chairmanship election.
Discussing his plan, the former National Youth Parliament Speaker revealed that he intends to adopt a “Brikama Modernization Plan” that would improve on the standard of Brikama Market, relocate some key institutions to create room for the expansion of the Brikama Market.
Bojang wishes to create a “Human Resource Unit” that would support BAC in improving the livelihood and welfare of the people of the region. He promised that he would also create a “Water Unit” that would drill boreholes for communities to ensure access to quality and safe drinking water through Foni and in some places in Kombo.
He hopes to support the operation and capacity development of Village Development Committees (VDCs) and Wards Development Committees (WDCs).
On Sanitation, Bojang stressed the need for an effective cleansing service system that would manage garbage collection for a cleaner West Coast Region.
In his first 100 days in office, Bojang said he would prioritise cleansing service.
“I will devise collaborative programmes with communities to create consciousness about waste management, ensure that public places are kept clean. Dust bins will be provided for public use whilst all commercial entities will be compelled to have dustbins in their places of business,” he rolls out the gist of his development plans.
“Garages will be created in key locations to enhance the movement of the people. A Solar Street Lightening programme will be initiated to ensure that our communities become brighter. A street classification programme will be launched that will determine which streets in each community will get priority treatment for construction and street lights.”
On youth and women, Bojang intends to set up special funds for youth and women to help with their empowerment. “Economic empowerment is needed to support our youth and women as both groups need access to funds to create and enhance their small business enterprises,” he said.
Mr Bojang, the United States scholar with a master’s degree in Public Administration, also stressed the importance of revamping the revenue collection system and ensuring accountability for all public funds and resources.
He promised to give back to the region what the people deserve to get. He plans to make BAC a service institution that serves the welfare of the people of the Region. “No place will be left behind either in Kombo or Foni. All the communities will feel the essence and value of the Area Council,” he assured.
“I know my people, I know my region, and their problems,” Bojang said, adding that if he is selected by the NPP and elected by the electorate of West Coast, “West Coast Region will never be the same, again”.
As, he says: “I will bring good leadership to the Council, create new programmes to solve problems, and improve the condition of the people. I am out to work for my people.”
Bojang finally promised to promote the development agenda of President Adama Barrow, saying: “I will help entrench NPP in the West Coast Region through development and services to the people.”
