President Adama Barrow has begun his 2021 presidential campaign in the North Bank Region (NRR). He is urging Gambian journalists to be neutral and report accurate information at all times.

Speaking to the press at the Presidential Palace, Barrow emphasised that his government wants Gambians to listen to their messages because it is positive and they have a lot to offer.

“I will break an important news in my first meeting. My contract is a social contract and we want to impact the lives of the people. We have been doing that in the past and we will continue doing it.”

The president believes that his government can do better than what they did in the previous years. He said they are qualified enough to run this country.

The Nation People’s Party leader reiterated that the government’s partners have been so supportive and the partners will support any initiative they want to embark on, saying their allocation has increased by 120%.

“We consider our five years as a transitional process and on the 4th of December will be a new start for the country. We built a strong foundation of democracy moving forward and we need everyone’s support, especially the media.”

“Let the media report accurate information. We don’t want you to support anybody but report accurately. That’s what we want and thank you for the five years. Sometimes we agree or disagree but it’s based on principles and let us not take it personal.”
