The first arrests happened less than 24 hours after the deadly attack that claimed the lives of two people on a bus attacked with a Molotov cocktail.
Two were arrested thanks to a telephone conversation that was recorded.
The two people arrested, a welder and a computer scientist, are believed to be active members of Ousmane Sonko's Pastef party. The police suspect them of having taken part in other criminal terrorist-type activities in the area.
Alongside these individuals already in the nets of the Security Forces, the investigators would like to hear from 3 other individuals, S. Mbengue, A. Samb as well as a man named Diagne whose address is still unknown. These people were traced from the cross-checking of the data recovered on the telephone and the computer of Y. D. Ly, the computer specialist arrested.
The two individuals were arrested around 5:30 a.m., just hours after the explosion of the vehicle attacked with a Molotov cocktail last Monday. In addition to the two people who died, there were 5 injured among the victims.
