AU Summit: VP heads Gambian delegation to Addis Ababa

Her Excellency the Vice President Dr Isatou Touray led a high-powered delegation to the African Union’s 35th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from the 5th -6th February 2022.

The Vice President who is representing President Adama Barrow delivered statement at this August gathering.

The delegation included four cabinet ministers; namely: Dr. Momodou Tangara, minister of Foreign Affairs International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad; Mrs Amie Fabureh, minister of Agriculture; Mrs Claudiana Cole, Minister of Basic and Secondary Education; Mrs Fatou Sanyang Kinteh, minister of Gender, Children and Social Welfare and other senior government officials.

The theme for the summit was: ‘Building resilience in nutrition on the African continent: Accelerate the human capital, social and economic development’.

The summit included a session of the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD). The First Lady Fatou Bah-Barrow was also in attendance.
