Amir Baba F. Trawally, the leader of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at of The Gambia has emphasised that the Jama'at are true followers of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
"The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at is not outside of Islam. This divine Jama'at is not a new religion and we are indeed those true followers of the Holy Prophet Muhammad Mustapha, who believe in him and who uphold him with the highest honour and respect," he said during the opening of the Jama'at 47th National Convention held at Nusrat Senior Secondary School in Bundung.

He said the Jama'at believes that Prophet Muhammad is the most perfect person, the most honourable and the best individual created by Allah Almighty and the best of all the Prophets and Messengers sent by Allah Almighty.

"The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat believes in the oneness of Allah Almighty and we recognise all His Attributes and we assign no faults to Allah Almighty."

"He is the Lord of all the worlds. He neither sleeps nor does He slumber and to Him shall be our final return," he said.

Amir Trawally said that the Jama'at believes in the Holy Qur’an as the most perfect revealed book and assign no faults or imperfections to it.

He added that the community believes that the Holy Qur’an is a perfect book, revealed to the Holy Prophet of Islam, Hazrat Muhammad Mustapha over 1400 hundred years ago and that it still maintains its perfection and pure teachings and that no vowel, dot or sentence can be changed or abrogated from the Holy Qur’an, noting that Allah Almighty Himself safeguards and protects this divine book.

"We have sent down this exhortation, and most surely we will be its guardian," he said.

Amir Trawally said the Jama'at believes in and follows the five pillars of Islam, the six articles of faith and believes in all the Prophets and Messengers sent by Allah Almighty.

"We hold them with great respect and honour," he added.

He said the Jama'at ‘s annual national convention is not a mere worldly gathering, instead it is a divine and unique purpose.

"The primary purpose of this convention is to enable every sincere individual to personally experience religious benefits," he noted, adding "it is essential for all those who can afford to undertake the journey, that they must come to attend this convention which embodies many blessed objectives."

“I re-emphasise that you must not rank this convention in the same league as other, ordinary, human assemblies. This is a phenomenon that is based purely on the divine help, for propagation of Islam, he advised.”
