Ambassador Bah receives U.S. ambassador-designate to Gambia

The audience provided an opportunity for cordial and constructive exchanges on matters of mutual interest, reaffirming the longstanding bonds of friendship and cooperation between The Gambia and the United States.

In welcoming Ambassador-Designate Socha, Ambassador Bah congratulated him on his appointment and extended warm wishes for a successful and fulfilling tour of duty in Banjul. Ambassador Bah highlighted the priorities of the Government of The Gambia in the areas of democratic governance, sustainable economic development, security cooperation, and support for ongoing reform processes.

He underscored the importance of a continued and strengthened partnership in promoting peace, stability and shared prosperity for the peoples of both nations and the wider international community.

For his part, the United States Ambassador-Designate His Excellency Lawrence Socha expressed his commitment to strengthening relations between the two friendly countries and further conveyed his resolve to work closely with Ambassador Bah and the authorities in Banjul. He is expected to commence his tour of duty soon.
