The theme for the event is: ‘Acceleration of the African Continental Free Trade Area Implementation’, aligns with the African Union's focus for 2023.
Mrs. Hannah Forster, executive director of ACDHRS said: "Our goal is to accelerate the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area while ensuring the protection and promotion of human rights across the continent."
A momentous gathering of champions for human rights, democracy, and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is set to take place at the Arusha International Conference Center from October 16th to 18th, 2023. The event, organised by the African Centre for Democracy and Human Rights Studies (ACDHRS) in partnership with the African Commission for Human and Peoples' Rights (ACHPR), promises to be a forum for diverse voices and perspectives.
The forum will avail participants a comprehensive understanding of the state of human rights, democracy, and the rule of law in Africa through thought-provoking discussions and presentations.
It will also avail them the opportunity to forge meaningful connections and collaborative partnerships with fellow participants and stakeholders, further enhancing the impact of their work.
Madam Forster said participants will have the chance to propose and adopt recommendations and resolutions that will be presented at the opening of the 77th Ordinary Session, shaping the human rights landscape in Africa.
Also there will be a unique opportunity to delve into the latest publications and research in the field of human rights at the 42nd African Human Rights Book Fair.
This forum promises to be a pivotal moment for those working towards a more just and interconnected Africa, where human rights and economic development go hand in hand.
