5 in DLEAG’s net over possession of drugs

Drug Law Enforcement Agency – The Gambia (DLEAG) took into custody five people on charges of possession of suspected prohibited and controlled drugs.

DLEAG’s Bundung Field Office clutched one Papa Salifu Jah, a 32-year-old Senegalese National for being in possession of 11 wraps of suspected heroine and four stones of suspected cocaine. He was apprehended in Banjul on 6 February 2022.

Elem Onyekachi Chidozie, a 36-year-old Nigerian National was clutched in Sukuta by DLEAG’s New Yundum Field Office on 2 February 2022, for being in possession of one parcel of suspected cannabis sativa

In Kunkujang 10 pieces of suspected cannabis resin (hashish), eight tablets of suspected clonazepam and one wrap of suspected cannabis sativa were seize from one Yaya Jallow, a 22-year-old Gambian. He was nabbed on the 5 February 2022 by DLEAG’s Wellingara Field Office. 

DLEAG’s Brusubi Field Office apprehended one Alkalo Fofana on 4 February 2022 at Jabang village with one small bundle of suspected cannabis sativa.

Ninety six wraps of suspected cannabis sativa was seized from Sanna Jaiteh in Sukuta by DLEAG’s Siffoe Field Office on 5 February 2022.

They are all in custody as investigations continue.
