Youths Children Foundation Bakoteh (YCFB), a local NGO based in Bakoteh in the Kanifing Municipality recently donated stationery to Bakoteh Police Station, at a ceremony held at the police station in Bakoteh.
Some of the donated items were books, files of papers, long notebooks, rulers and writing materials.
YCFB is a public interest-based organisation striving towards child, youths and community development.
In receiving the materials, Mr. Foday Balajo, Bakoteh Station Officer commended YCFB for the humanitarian gesture.
He then urged other NGOs to emulate Youth Children Foundation, adding that it’s only by doing so that they can complement government efforts in meeting Vision 2020, and other blueprints within a shortest possible time.
For his part, Fred Efosa Omobude, director of Youth Children Foundation Bakoteh stated that the organisation is a charitable organisation, based in Bakoteh in the Kanifing Municipality, aimed at supporting youths and children welfare, thus complementing government efforts in achieving its targets.
While urging the beneficiaries to make the best use of the donated materials for the sake of its purpose, he said, the gesture was part of their efforts in contributing their quota to nation- building.
Ms. Bintou Coker, the Public Relations Officer for YCFB, spoke at length on the importance of the ceremony, adding that the security, especially the police, are doing a great job in the country. As he put it, one cannot imagine a country without security.
Ms. Mariama Ceesay, the Secretary-General of the foundation, did the presentation of the donated materials to the beneficiaries.
