Sang Ndong, head coach of Hawks FC, has said that his team is running short of their objective which is to finish third position in this year’s league.

Sang Ndong, who was speaking to reporters on Sunday at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium following his side’s goalless draw with Bakau United in the week-21 encounter of the GFF first division league when he made these remarks, added that they will fight to collect the maximum three points in their final game of the league to be able to meet their target.

“We will fight to achieve it,” he noted, saying: “Every game is a game of its own and has its approach.

He stated that they will prepare for the game better than they even prepared for Interior FC in the week-twenty encounter, saying it was unfortunate they did not win against Bakau United.

He stated that, everything went wrong for them against Bakau United, noting that his team did not play well.

He said the game was also physical, adding that they are battling with injuries as five of his key players are nursing injuries.

Kebba Touray, head coach of Bakau United, said he was not happy with the draw, adding: “We played better and created better chances.”

“We deserve a point today,” he said, adding that the overall performance of his team this season is good but that scoring goals has been a general problem during the league.

He said they know the department would adjust next season, saying: “We lost the league title during the week 4 and 5 but it is a learning process.”

The most important thing is maintaining the team in the topflight league which they have achieved but noted that they will fight for a win in their final game of the league to improve on the standing.
