Uprising have sailed to the quarterfinal in the ongoing Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation league after their 1-0 win over Cannon in the round sixteen tie played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on Sunday.
Alpha Jatta opened the scores for Uprising in the 53rd minute of the game from the penalty spot after Cannon defender Sainey Gibba brought down Alieu Gomez inside the eighteen, which eventually proved to be the winner.
The win has earned Uprising a place in the last eight in the 2015 Serrekunda East summer biggest football gala, and Cannon are out.
The match between Milan and Zurich at 5pm was cancelled due to a dispute between Macasa players and Police Intervention Unit officers at the gate.
