The current champions of the Gambia Football Association (GFA), who won the title for the first time last season, will be representing the country in the upcoming Caf club championship and they have since lined-up two crucial international friendly matches against their Senegalese counterparts.
The GFA’s league champions are using the friendly matches to prepare for the continental club cup championship scheduled to commence early next year.
The friendly international tie, according to officials of Brikama Youth and Sports Committee, is also intended to raise money that would be used for the development projects of the West Coast Region area.
“We are pleased to extend an invitation to your media house to provide coverage for our forthcoming friendly international matches between Brikama United and Casa Sport FC of Senegal,” a statement from the Youth and Sports Committee of the West Coast Region outfit stated.
It would be recalled that Brikama United have recently celebrated what was the club’s first major trophy as they rushed to a top flight GFA league success after winning the title with an impressive total of 43 points in spectacular fashion.
