Reports reaching The Point indicated that the Managing Editor of Today Newspaper, Mr. Abdul Hamid Adiamoh has been arrested and currently kept in police custody.
When contacted on the issue, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sulayman Secka confirmed the veracity of the story.
According to him, Today's editor was arrested on Wednesday 10th June 2009, between the hours of 2 and 3pm.
He added that Hamid is now helping them in their investigations, and noted that the police would later call a press conference to throw more light on the matter after the full completion of their investigations.
On why he was arrested, the police spokesperson said "it will be confirmed to the press after their investigations".
