Tigers FC Clinches S\K West Super Cup

Tigers FC were last Saturday crowned champions of the Serrekunda West Super Cup following their 2-1 win over Lusanne FC in a well attended final game played at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.

Both sides put remarkable performance in the first opening 20 minutes of game and they created several scoring opportunities in each other's mouth.

Tigers FC opened the tally through striker Saikou Gibba in the 43rd minute but Lusanne FC though fought back and put mounted heavy pressure on Tigers defence line and their efforts paid dividend in the 47th minute when striker Abdoulie Ndure levelled the tally and the first half ended 1-1.

In the resumption of the second half, Tiger who are confident that they can beat Lussanne FC and lift the trophy, came all out and put pressure on defence line and created lots of scoring opportunities in front of Lusanne FC goalmouth, and striker Timoti Colley sealed the victory in the 65th minute of play after dribbling Lusanne defenders to make it 2-1 in their favour.

As the champions, Tigers FC bagged a giant trophy and a cash prize of D3,000, whilst Lusanne FC received D2,000 as the runners-up.

In a similar development, Ajax FC defeated Kanifing FC 1-0 in the opening game of the 2009-10 Serrekunda West Nawettan Championship on Sunday at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.
