Sulayman Jammeh, Dodou Jallow and Yaya Badjie were recently arraigned at the Kanifing Magistrates’ court, charged with stealing from a dwelling house.
The accused, who pleaded not guilty to the charge, were each granted bail of D50,000 with a Gambian surety each, who must be resident within the jurisdiction of the court and must also deposit their national ID card.
According to the charge sheet, on 26 January 2011, at Fajara in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused persons jointly stole from the house of one Sheikh Faye, a laptop marked Toshiba valued at D30,000, and a double-sim mobile phone marked Okin valued at D2,800, all being the property of the said Sheikh Faye.
At that juncture, Magistrate Tabally adjourned the case until 21 February 2011.
