Ebrima Jallow, assistant coach of Africell FC has said there “is no team in the first division league that is playing better football than Africell” despite not getting the goals and results in their favour.
Jallow was speaking to reporters at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium after watching his side suffer yet another defeat in the hands of Gamtel in the final game of the first round fixtures of the Gambia Football Association division one league on Sunday, a defeat that has seen them further dropped to the relegation zone going into the second round with a mammoth task of survival.
But if the interview with Africell’s assistant coach is anything to lean on, football followers will see a different Africell side in the second round of the league.
The confident Jallow said: “You will see us at the middle of the league table and even fighting for the title.”
Jallow, who remained optimistic of Africell’s chances of putting up a real title challenge when the second round takes centre stage, has some piece of advice for his strikers as he called on them to make good use of their chances.
He finally urged the fans of Africell to be patient, noting that they would bounce back to their winning form in the second round of the league.
