The Bundung Magistrates’ Court presided over by Magistrate Isatou Janneh recently heard testimony in the case of obtaining money by false pretence involving one Malafi Jatta.

Testifying, Alhagie Manneh told the court he recognised the accused and in June 2012, one Angella Jatta came to the Alkalo of Brufut with a document from the area council, while he was working at the President’s farm.

He said he was then called and on his arrival at the Alkalo’s compound, the Alkalo showed him a document which he checked and told the Alkalo that it was not their stamp.

Mr Manneh added that the said document was a local transfer document, but when the Alkalo found out from Angella, Angella told him she got the said plot of land from the accused.

Designated as the fifth prosecution witness (PW5), Manneh told the court he went to the said land to know the location, and he reported to the Alkalo that the plot in question did not belong to the accused. The Alkalo instructed him to report the matter to the Brusubi Police Station, which he did, adding that the stamp bearing on the document of Angella was not the stamp of the Brufut Alkalo.
