Supporting has played and continued to play a key role in elevating countries' name at international level.
Football no doubt dominates the greatest of the nation's support, but highly in competition with Lawn Tennis whose number, according to Phillip Akimbogun, the Head Coach of the association is significantly increasing in all parts of the country, and more importantly in schools.
The game might not be as popular as others has attracted interests from a lot of individuals, ranging from boys, girls, men and women who work tirelessly to make sure they excel internationally. One typical example is the fact that, despite the holy month of Ramadan the Tennis Association is not resting on their laurels in their efforts to remain fit in case of any international tennis championship ahead.
Coach Phillip who has been at the helm of tennis affairs for the better part of his life commended the tennis players for what he described as their continuous effort, especially during this month of Ramadan. He noted that despite the Ramadan, the players are comporting themselves as expected of them.
Meanwhile, the financial constraints which continued to affect many sporting disciplines in the country is the biggest problem for the Lawn Tennis Association which has also hindered the association' chances of participating in previous international tennis championship.
