The Taiwanese ambassador to The Gambia, Richard Shih, on Thursday presented three cheques valued at over two million dalasis to the government of The Gambia.
The monies presented in three separate cheques were received by the Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service Madam Marima Khan at her office in Banjul.
Presenting the cheques on behalf of his government, Ambassador Shih expressed delight in seeing his country's continuing support to The Gambia.He described the two countries' peoples as brothers and sisters.
In receiving the cheques, Madam Khan applauded the government and people of Taiwan for the gesture.
According to her, Taiwan is a household name in The Gambia, and she assured the envoy that the funds would be put into good use.
The monies are meant to support the I-media project for the documentary called "The Gambia in Motion", the 22nd July construction project and RVTH medical research programme.
