St. George's Guilds Donates To Social Institutions

St. George's Guilds in Denmark, in collaboration with the Gambia Boden Powell Scout and Guilds last Sunday donated office equipment to social institutions around the country.

The donated items, which include chairs, conference tables, book cases, stools and computer tables were given to Soma Scout Skills Centre, Essau Health Centre, Hanna Vibe Nursery School, Amitage Senior Secondary School, Gola School, Bakau New Town Lower Basic School, Mbanta School, Bakoteh Annex Lower Basic School, Tampoto Basic School, Sanyang Health Centre, and Girls Guide Soma.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at Bakau New Town Lower Basic School, Pa Omar Bojang, the Project Coordinator revealed that the 40 feet container was shipped from Denmark to The Gambia. He urged the beneficiaries to acknowledge the support of the donors.

For his part, Ousman Jatta, acting Chief Scout Commissioner said that their mission as scouts is to develop scouting in the country, noting that the President Jammeh, who is the chief scout in The Gambia always promotes education.

Mr. Ousman Janneh also urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items. He commended the donors for their kind gesture.
