The Public Relations Officer of the Serekunda West Sports Committee, Alhaji Amat Cham has underscored the importance of the Second Edition of Baby Muhammeh Jammeh's Perpetual Zonal Championship for West Zone and remains positive of their possibility of winning their first-ever title.

The most important thing, according to Amat, is to come into the championship to compete with the hope of winning the trophy. He was however quick to admit that success cannot be achieved without determination, commitment, teamwork and hard work.

Other Zones, such as Bakau have been making noise regarding the championship with many football fans around the area.

Cham, however refused to predict the outcome of the competition, given the fact that the best way is to allow your football to do the talking and at the end of the day the results will prove everything but not other way round.

According to him, football is played in an open area and the best team on the pitch wins at the end of the game.

Amat Cham further went on to add that the objective of Serekunda West is to win the Zonal Title but he was how ever conscious of the fact that winning the title depends on whatever you do.

Amat further used the platform to tell this reporter that he and his colleagues at the committee level have done their best to improve the standard of the game since they were appointed to take charge of the sports in that area.

"I believe the committee have done a lot since taking up the responsibility to run the affairs of sports in this Zone and they have seen our achievement but it is the responsibility of people who selected us to judge us but not ourselves," he said, while responding to the question raised by Pointsport as to weather the club representatives were quite impressed with their achievements since appointing them to another tenure in office.

Amat went further to describe this year's Summer Championship as a success.
