Senegal further reduces fuel, cooking gas prices

Senegal has once again further reduced the price of fuel and cooking gas, with effect from Wednesday, February 17, the second such reduction within a month.

According to DakarFlash News online, quoting the secretary to the Hydrocarbons Committee, Pape Alassane Dème, the pump price for super petrol has been reduced by 60 CFA francs per litre and diesel by 45 CFA francs per litre.

Therefore, super petrol, which was selling for 755 CFA francs (D51) has now dropped to 695 CFA francs (D48), diesel from 640 francs (D44.60) to 595 francs (D41.60).

Cooking gas has now dropped to 2,885 francs (D200) from 3,090 francs (D215) for the 6kg cylinder, a decrease of 205 francs. The 9kg cylinder now costs 4,200 francs (D292) from 4,595 francs (D321), the 12kg cylinder is now 6,250 francs (D437) from 6,680 francs (D467) and the 38kg cylinder now costs 19,000 francs (D1,329) from 20,300 francs (D1,420).
