Fatoumata Semega-Janneh, a female wrestling promoter, who runs Semega Promotion, passed away on Sunday, Pointsport was reliably informed.

Semega Promotion, since its formation, has been staging series of wrestling contests featuring local wrestlers, at the Serrekunda West Mini- Stadium.

The late Fatoumata Semega Janneh was also at the forefront in the promotion of wrestling in the country and at one time last year headed a press briefing, which attracted various wrestlers with their managers of different clubs.

Semega Janneh during her service to humanity had also called for collective work including the wrestling federation and the wrestlers to work together for the development of The Gambia’s wrestling sport.

The foundation has been working closely with the Gambia Wrestling Journalists Association for a successful promotion of its events.

The late Semega-Janneh was laid to rest yesterday at the Dippa-Kunda cemetery.

May her soul rests in perfect peace!
