Bakau United on Saturday twice came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw with Real De Banjul FC in their week-six encounter of the GFA first division league game played at the Banjul Mini Stadium.

Dimingo Manneh opened the score-line for Real De Banjul in the 3rd minute of the game but Amadou Baldeh levelled the score for Bakau United 10 minutes later.

Bubacarr Trawally made it 2-1 for Real De Banjul going into the break but Pa Modou Njie came to the rescue of his side with 6 minutes remaining on the clock thus the game ended 2-2.

Speaking to reporters shortly after the game, Alagie Sarr, head coach of Real De Banjul, said they could have finished the game during the first period but stated that after scoring, his side started to relax and began to entertain the spectators, which resulted into the draw.

He said they will now prepare well for the return leg preliminary match of the 17th edition of the CAF Champions League against Morocco’s FUS Rabat to be played on Saturday 2 March 2013 in Banjul, so they could emerge victorious and qualify for the next stage of the competition.

Kebba Touray, head coach of Bakau United, said he was disappointed at the way his team played in the first half of the game even though they did well during the second period.

Jasper, as he is widely called, stated that the first goal they conceded was due to lack of concentration but they were able to hold themselves up and came back to the game.

They will go back and rectify their mistakes and come back stronger in their next game, he remarked.
