Rash And Negligent Case Heard

The Brikama Magistrates' Court, presided over by Magistrate J.A. Effim recently heard a rash and negligent case, causing death brought against one Nfansu Touray.

Testifying before the court, the first prosecution witness, one Ebrima Mass, a resident of Tanji Village told the court that he recognised the accused and could also recall on 25th August 2009.

He testified that on the day in question, the accused was accompanying him to Casamance in a four passenger Tourist taxi, with a registration number BJL2567E.

According to him, they were four in the vehicle including the deceased, Alh Baba Mass.

He said upon arrival at Mandinaba-Giboro Highway, the vehicle suddenly somersaulted when it left the road, and as result his father Alh Baba Mass lost his life.

He testified further that they were rushed to Brikama Health Centre and later referred to the RVTH.

He adduced that when he was discharged from the hospital, he went to the Brikama Police Station to prepare an affidavit to discharge the accused as, according to him, they were friends.

The case was adjourned to 2nd December 2009.
