The second prosecution witness (PW2), Salifu Houma, recently testified in the trial involving one Muhammed Touray, accused of assault at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Janneh.

Houma told the court that he lives at Sanchaba, and works as an iron binder.

He recognised the accused and recalled that on 9 December 2015, he met the accused at Senegambia, adding that there was a problem between the accused and one Dawda Bah.

When the incident happened, he came and found that the accused had wounded the complainant and left there a cap he was wearing.

He later recognised the cap, and said he knew the accused alias Movada, adding that on the following day, the accused was seen by one Pa.

He explained to him that the accused had a problem with his brother, and wounded him.

He asked the accused to go with him to Sanchaba Police Station, where the complaint was lodged but the accused refused and insulted him.

He subsequently took the accused to his house, and the police came and arrested him.

He further explained that the accused stabbed the complainant on his hands with a broken bottle.

The case was adjourned to 11 January 2016.
